Vehicle Types

Use this sheet to define the types of vehicles used in the model.

Vehicle types are used to group vehicles that share common travel characteristics. Travel cost and travel time values are defined at the vehicle type level rather than individually for each vehicle.

Name

Defines the vehicle type. Each name represents a category of vehicles that share the same travel cost and travel time values. Examples:

• Small van
• 26ft truck
• Refrigerated truck

This field must be unique.

The values entered here are referenced in the following sheets:

• Vehicles sheet to specify the type of each vehicle

• Costs sheet to define travel costs for that vehicle type

• Travel Time sheet to define travel times for that vehicle type

Values entered in those sheets must match a name defined here exactly.
